Properties: red-brown liquid. Relative density 1.42. insoluble in water immiscibility, aqueous acid, oxidation corrosion of the metal role. Dilute aqueous ferric chloride, ferric hydroxide hydrolysis generate precipitation, strong cohesion.

Uses: ferric chloride is an important inorganic flocculants, characterized by formation of alum density, precipitation easy to deal with low temperatures, the effect of low turbidity better than aluminum for a wide range of pH (5.0-11.0); use in the alcohol and leather wastewater containing protein in the treatment of special effects; also used in electronic etching, texturing and fabric dyeing drum mordants, etc.
