ε-polylysine Effect
1> ε-polylysine can greatly inhibit the growth of bacteria, yeasts and moulds bacteria, especially to the Gram- bacteria which cannot easily inhibit by others.
2> As a good preservative, ε-PL is characterized as being high safety, water-soluble, stable at high temperatures, widely usage, non prejudice to the taste, antibacterial in neutral or subacidity conditions..
3> Because of the stability at high temperatures, it can inhibit some heat-resistant bacillus after heat treatment and some tadpole-form noncontractile siphovirus as well.
4> ε-polylysine can stop small intestine fat absorption through inhibiting pancreatic lipase activities, so it can be the diet therapy for obese patients.
5> Besides, ε-polylysine also can be used in cosmetics, disinfectant or cleaner for food machinery or hutch, etc.

Description:
ε-polylysine is a naturally produced, cationic homopolymer of 25-35 L-lysine(due toStreptomyces albulus fermentation.), which was connected by ε-amido bond compounded by a ε-amido of l-lysine and a a-carboxyl of another l-lysine. ε-Polylysine is as a natural, toxicologically safe, antibacterial food preservative. It is a natural substance from microbial metabolism. ε-Polylysine can inhibit the growth of Gram(+) and Gram(-) bacteria such as E. Coli and Bacillus subtilis, yeast, moulds, lactic acid bacteria, thermophilics such as B,stearothermophilus, bacillus-bacilli., and Staphlacoccus aureus, ect… Compared to traditional preservatives, ε-Polylysine shows the advantages on safety, good heat tolerance and solubility in water, and extensive antimicrobial ability against Gram+ bacteria and fungi. It can be sterilized along with the raw material, especially as the safe food preservative without side-effects.

Usage & Hazard Identification:
ε-Polylysine was found to be non-toxic at high levels in acute animal studies and was not mutagenic in bacterial reversion assays. ε-Polylysine is “Generally Recognized As Safe” (GRAS. GRN000315) by the FDA. It is widely used as food preservation in rice, noodles, cakes, snacks, and ice creams, salad, canned foods and meat products. It can be automatically hydrolyzed into nutritive amino acid, lysine without any harm to the body. Its activity is not affected by pH, and stable when heated (120℃for 20 min). It can decompose for lysine within the body, and can be completely digested absorption by the body.It can also be used as a carrier for pharmaceutical molecules. With good absorption of liquid, it is used in SAP to produce sanitation products, such as sanitation napkin and diapers.You may confect the 5-10% ε-Polylysine solution with cold boiled water or distilled water, then put it into the food and mix fully. If it is used together with other food preservatives, can attain better effect.

Storage & Shelf life:
Two years in cool (0-20°C) in well-closed container in dry conditions, away from direct sunlight.
