We have considerably expanded our catalogue of scaffolds for Medicinal Chemistry. The catalogue contains over 2000 rigid heterocyclic based fused ring systems which are very powerful synthetic tools. These small and multifunctional compounds are versatile templates to allow the rapid exploration of chemical space making them ideal for early hit identification, fragment based approaches, hit-to-lead programmes, library production and scaffold hopping. The availability of region-isomers within related templates allows the swift access to SAR and the inclusion of heteroatoms aids the modification of physicochemical properties and probes binding sites. The incorporation of protection groups and synthetically tractable functional groups such as aryl halides enables expedient synthetic strategies.
