MSI ink made up of CLCP pigments(cholesteric liquid crystal polymer pigments) , is a multi-level, cost-efficient security system based on unambiguous, simple authentication. The first level features a color shift that is visible to the untrained eye. The second level comprises a semi-covert feature: a light polarization effect. A special double filter is needed to see the effect. Through one side of the filter, the color appears intense and bright, while on the other side it disappears or turns into another color.
Ideal applications for this type of ink include documents of value such as bank checks, stocks and bonds, birth certificates and lottery tickets.
