  Applications of rhodium solution White Rhodium plating solution is a rhodium plating solution that produces a oxidized grey-black plate on gold and other precious metals for an antique look. It is used to produce a reflective white surface in a process called rhodium flashing. It is also used as a coating for sterling silver to reduce the chance of tarnishing. Plated rhodium is sometimes used for optical instruments.
