Toxicity | The acute oral LD50 for mancozeb was 4,500 mg/kg.The acute dermal (skin) LD50 for mancozeb was greater than 5,000 mg/kg. Mancozeb was mildly irritating to the skin with a primary irritation score (PISof 0.5. Mancozeb caused moderate eye irritation with a PIS of 2.3.Mancozeb has an acute inhalation to LC50 of greater than 5.14 mg/L.Mancozeb is used to control Lophodermium needle cast, Pine gall rust, and Scirrhia brown spot in conifers and Swiss needle cast in Douglas Fir. |
Application | Mancozeb is classified as a contact fungicide with preventive activity. It inhibits enzyme activity in fungi by forming a complex with metal-containing enzymes including those involved in production of adenosine triphosphate. |
