Detailed Description:
Polychloroprene, SN 232:
Introduction
SN232 is a general purpose, mercaptan modified polychloroprene rubber produced using a Nairit recipe and process technology. SN232 has a medium crystallization rate and can be seen as an equivalent to the W grade from Dupont.
Characteristics
The medium viscosity of the SN23x series
Excellent physical property and plasticity
Low compression set and excellent elasticity
Good processability, no adhering to rolls in milling
Good resistance to oil, chemicals, sunshine and abrasion
Good flame retardency
Good storage stability
Appearance
White or grey chips. No solid impurities except talcum.
Comparable grades
Dupont: Neoprene W
Denka: Denka M-40
Lanxess: Baypren 210
Application
The wide range of viscosities available in the SN23x series allow the appropriate amount of filler and plasticizer to be added to obtain compounds suitable for most applications where CR is the rubber of choice. Particular examples of their intended applications are: Conveyor belts, extruded profiles, hoses, seals and wire and cable shaeths. These grades can also be used for formulating adhesives, perticularly for adhesive plasters.
