  Propylene Glycol Alginate is of white powder and it is easy to dissolved in water and its water solution become gel. Propylene Glycol Alginate (PGA) is an ester of alginic acid in which originally derived from brown algae as some of the carboxyl groups are esterified with propylene glycol, some neutralized with an appropriate alkali and some remain free. It is in the form of white or flaxen powder and can be easy dissolved in water.
  Applications:
  Food industry:
  1). In food industry, PGA can be used as thickener,emulsifier and stabilizer.
  2). PGA has good acid-proof property,can be used in conditions with PH at 3-5.
  3). PGA has strong frothing and emulsifying ability.Widely used as a stabilizer for yoghurt, flavoring and beer foam.
  4). PGA can be used as texture improver, PGA can be used in flour, noodles and instant foods.
  5). PGA can also be used in ketchup, sauce, syrup, etc.
  Pharmaceutical industry:
  1). Propylene Glycol Alginate can be used as a stabilizer for X-ray contrast agent, a protective agent for gastrointestinal mucosa, and a raw material for cosmetics.
