  This product is the principal component of Compound α-Keto Acid tablets,
  which is used together with low-protein diet for the prevention and treatment of protein
  metabolism disorders caused by chronic renal insufficiency. It can also increase serum calcium
  concentration by oral administration in a long time. In addition, it can correct hyperphosphatemia
  in chronic renal failure patients by forming insoluble calcium-phosphate in the intestinal tract, so
  as to reduce secretion of parathyroid hormone, to improve the calcium- phosphorus metabolism
  and secondary hyperparathyroidism, and thus reduce renal damage and delay the process of CRF
  disease.
