    Product Description
    StarSoft C-1010 is an innovative textile softener, especially designed to deliver a hydrophilic, voluminous, silky hand feels to most types of fabrics at lower use level than traditional silicone softeners.
    StarSoft C-1010 is based on novel linear (AB)n block-copolymer platform and polyether & quat functional silicone copolymer that adds hydrophilicity ,affinity and durability to the properties portfolio of linear terpolymers. It proves the outstanding durability performance of StarSoft C-1010 versus conventional hydrophobic and hydrophilic amino silicone softeners.
    StarSoft C-1010 is able not only to coat the fiber surface, delivering on unusual full and rich hand-feels, but also to penetrate deeply and homogeneously into the interior of natural fibers, modifying each single fiber and therefore enhancing the fabric performance.
    StarSoft C-1010 is readily emulsified. It can be applied by padding but particularly well suited for exhaust applications where its outstanding emulsion stability allows it to deliver full benefits to the end user.

    Instructions for Use



    The optimum treatment depends on the required softness of the fabric or yarn after dyeing and rinsing. The use of 0.25 ~ 0.5 % of silicone active BOWF is commonly recommended.

    It can be applied by any types of textile finish process such as pad-dry-cure, exhaust and garment / piece finishing. Due to the quart functionality of StarSoft C-1010, it is extremely exhaustible in all types of finish process.

    Since StarSoft C-1010 is a silicone oil , it should be emulsified before applying in textile finish process. However, the emulsification is much easier than emulsifying of other silicone fluids conventionally used for textile softener application. StarSoft C-1010 is simply emulsified by normal equipment and procedure.

    When emulsifying StarSoft C-1010, organic softeners and/or other types of silicone softener can be blended if required. But the compatibility with particularly anionic chemicals needs to be carefully tested in advance.

    Guide Emulsification

    Followings are guide formulations for different silicone active content emulsion that can be commonly applied in textile finish process. Further dilution with water after emulsifying can obtain a micro-emulsion with lower silicone actives.


    Micro-emulsion for 23.0% silicone actives

    1) Formulation

    2) Procedure
    ① Charge StarSoft C-1010and & TDE-6 into a mixer, and then stir it at moderate speed for ~10 min till fully homogeneous.
    ② Premix acetic acid and water.
    ③ Slowly add the acidic water while continuously stirring StarSoft C-1010 and TDE-6 in the mixer. Stop charging the acidic water occasionally to ensure the water is well taken into the grease.
    ④ Clear micro-emulsion should be obtained at end of this procedure
    ⑤ Filter before packing, if necessary

    Micro-emulsion for 37% silicone actives

    1) Formulation

    2) Procedure
    ① Charge water in a mixer
    ② Premix C-1010, TDE-6, TDE-12 and Butyl Carbitol by using a portable hand-mixer or a rod. StarSoft C-1010 viscosity will be reduced and easy to handle.
    ③ Slowly add the premixed StarSoft C-1010and emulsifiers into water, and then stir at 300~400rpm till fully dispersed
    ④ Add acetic acid and further stir for 10~15 min
    ⑤ Filter before packing, if necessary


    Storage and Handling
    To ensure that the product quality is maintained, the container should be tightly sealed when not in use. Store at normal room temperature, and prevent prolonged exposure to extreme heat or freezing conditions, which may cause product separation. If separation does occur, thaw if frozen, stir the contents, and use in the normal manner.
