Product description: Cumene is produced primarily by reacting benzene with propylene. About 35% of the cumene Georgia Gulf produces is consumed internally to produce phenol and acetone, which are used in the production of phenolic resins. Cumene production not used internally is sold to other phenol and acetone manufacturers. Cumene can also be used as a paint thinner, as a constituent for some petroleum-based solvents, and as a component of high-octane aviation fuel. |
