【FEATURES】
YC series no-bake furan resin (i.e. self setting furan resin) is eco-friendly foundry binder. It will react in the presence of an acid hardener at ambient temperature to form a cured binder, is used to make sand mould &core. Different types of furan no-bake resin can be used for casting all types of metal, such as casting steel, iron and non-ferrous etc. The resin appears as a pale yellow to red brown transparent liquid with the following characteristics:
1、LOW VISCOSITY
YC furan resins have a low viscosity, it is easy to mix, increase the flow ability of mixed sand.
2、HIGH STRENGTH & EFFECTIVE COST
The resin can provide high strength at a lower addition rate thus improve reduction in binder cost up to 10-20%.
3、FASTER CURING SPEED
Due to faster curing property reduce production time, enhance productivity.
4、ECO-FRIENDLY
The emissions during sand mixing and mold filling are very low. Free formaldehyde can be controlled to be less than 0.05%,which is lesser than other typical furan binder system & addition rate in sand is lower which results in better impact on environment as well as at working point.
5、CONSISTENTLY HIGH QUALITY
YC furan no-bake resin is produced using a newly developed process, ensuring a high quality and extremely consistent product.
6、IMPROVE CASTING QUALITY
Lower addition rate of furan resin and hardener reduce gas evolution as well as defects like surface sulphurizing, abnormal nodulizing, gas hole, pinhole etc.
7、HIGHLY RECLAIMABLE
High reclaimation value of used sand is up to 97%.
8、BETTER COLLAPSIBILITY
Collapsibility is better than other binder system.
9、GOOD THERMAL PROPERTIES
High temperature properties are very good leads to less casting defects & good dimension.
10、SILANE ADDITION DURING SAND MIXING NOT REQURIED
No silane is required under any circumstance, which simplifies mould or core making operation.

【APPLICATION GUIDE】
1、APPLICATION METHOD
Sand 100%
Furan resin 0.8-1.5% of sand weight
Hardener (i.e. catalyst) 30%-70% of resin weight
Mix sand with hardener using continuous mixer or batch type mixer, then add resin and mix evenly. Typically the mixing timeis 5 to 60 seconds. Use sand immediately after mixing.
2、SELECTION OF RESIN ADDITION RATIO
Amount of resin to be applied depends on application and production requirements, the sand quality, (Like grain distribution, shape, clay content etc.), structure and size of the mold & core as well as casting properties. Maintain resin percentage as low as possible for your specific application.
3、STRIPPING TIME CONTROL
Stripping time can be adjusted to within 10-90 minutes. Typically 1540 minutes. The stripping time should be well judged. Early stripping may cause damage to the mold & delay in stripping maymake it difficult to separate the mold from pattern.
4、CURING SPEED CONTROL
To increase curing speed, increase hardener (%) (not to exceed 70% based on resin) or use a faster hardener. To slow curing speed, reduce hardener (%) (not less than 30% based on resin) or use a slower hardener.
【SAFETY PRECAUTIONS】
1、Furan resin will react violently when mixed with acids in absence of an adequate amount of sand. Resin and hardener should be stored separately. Never mix resin and hardener directly.
2、When handling any chemical, proper safety gear should always be employed. Chemical resistant gloves and eye protection should always be used when handling or using furan resin binders.
3、Furan resin should be kept in cold and dry place out of direct sunlight.
【PACKAGE】
Packed in 230 kg, 240 kg plastic drum or iron drum. Packed in 1000 or 1100kg IBC-tank. Packed in Iso-tank of 21 metric tons net each, or as per customers’ request.
