MCPL is a constituent of M.S. Group Of Companies which is into various business activities like : Constructions, Mining, and Entertainment. An urge and an unquenchable thirst to do something different guided and directed the team towards the subtle path of Specialty Aroma Chemicals. This gave birth to MCPL in the year 1992. The company started its operations by spending huge sums on Research and Development work. A project was sponsored by MCPL at Indian Institute of Technology, Powai , Mumbai. A number of reaction types were handled and a number of products came out of this exercise. MCPL could have capitalized onto these chemicals but the chemistry did not appeal. MCPL wanted to be in an area where it could carve its own niche. MCPL did not aim for a "me too" approach. In the initial phase the company faced a lot of difficulty as the chemistry was difficult, the technology was new and above all the odor profiles were unknown.
