During the AKD sizing agent production, with higher active content, emulsifying effect is better. Some suppliers adopt non-solvent process. Because of not adding solvent, production cost is low. Toluene removal is a very complicated process. Other suppliers don’t have this process and technology can’t reach the requirements of solvent process. In non-solvent process, because stearic acid transformation is not complete, AKD wax has lower purity and more impurity and is not stable and easy to hydrolyze during papermaking especially in summer. The hydrolyzation mainly manifests as larger dosage and layering. By DCS full automatic control system, we can control the exact dosage proportion of raw material, reaction time and reaction temperature to avoid mistake generated by manual operation so as to guarantee the product quality. Our process brings higher purity, more stable quality and higher active content. During use, our active content is much higher than other suppliers’. At the same dosage, AKD sizing agent made from our AKD wax is more stable, dosage in papermaking is less. It will improve the AKD sizing agent market competitiveness.
