Description Hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS) is an important organosilicon compound widely used in organosilicon chemistry and organic synthesis. It is not only a key raw material for the synthesis of hexamethyldisilazane-based urea (BSU), but also a commonly used silylating agent in organic synthesis, possessing significant industrial value. In organosilazane chemistry, HMDS can be used for chlorine exchange with chlorosilane monomers to produce polysilazanes¡ªan approach that offers substantial advantages over direct ammonia introduction in terms of synthesis. In the semiconductor industry, it serves as an adhesion promoter for photoresists. In the pharmaceutical industry, HMDS is used in the synthesis of amikacin, penicillin, cephalosporins, and other drugs.
