Appearance Tech. which crystals powder. M.p.220-221℃. V.p.<0.1mPa(50℃). Solubility Soluble in water c. 50,<10(PH1-2),>600(PH7) (all in mg/l, 20℃). In acetone 300, cyclohexanone 150, dichloromethane 10, hexane 0.5, xylene 1.9(g/l, 20℃), and forms water-soluble salts. Stability Stable in storage for at least 6 months at 50℃. Decomposed by light.
Toxicity
Oral Acute oral LD50 for male rats 1250-2000, female rats 1600mg/kg. Skin and eyes Acute percutaneous LD50 for rabbits>1000mg/kg. Mid skin lrritant; mild to moderate eye irritant (rabbits). Extrene skin sensitizer (Magnusson & Kligman test), not a skin sensitizer (ear/flank Stevens test, guinea, pigs). Inhalation LC50 (4h) for male rats 4.97mg/l. Toxicity class WHO (a.i.)III
Application
Protoporphyrinogen oxidase inhibitor. Selective herbicide, absorbed by both leaves and roots, with very limited translocation in the phloem. Early post-emergence control of broad-leaved weeds in soya beans.
