Cas No. :5949-29-1
Properties:
At room temperature, citric acid is a white crystalline powder. It can exist either in an anhydrous (water-free) form or as a monohydrate. The anhydrous form crystallizes from hot water, whereas the monohydrate forms when citric acid is crystallized from cold water. The monohydrate can be converted to the anhydrous form by heating it above 74 c. Citric acid also dissolves in absolute (anhydrous) ethanol (76 parts of citric acid per 100 parts of ethanol) at 15 degrees celsius. In chemical structure, citric acid shares the properties of other carboxylic acids. When heated above 175 c, it decomposes through the loss of carbon dioxide and water. 1.Citric Acid Monohydrate Specification: Characters: A white, crystalline powder, colorless crystals or granules Identification: To pass test Appearance of solution: To pass test Readily carbonisale substances: To pass test Oxalic acid: Max. 350 ppm Aluminium: Max. 0.2 ppm Sulphates: Max. 150 ppm Heavy metals: Max. 10 ppm Water: 7.5%~9.0% Sulphated ash: Max. 0.1% Bacterial endotoxins: To pass test Assay: 99.0%~100.5% 2.Citric Acid Anhydrous Specification: Definition complies with the test Characters white, crystalline powder, colorless crystals or granules Identification complies with the test Assay 99.5%~100.5% Loss on drying ≤ 0.5% Readily carbonisable substances: Pass the test Sulfate ash ≤ 0.1% Iron ≤ 50ppm Chloride ≤ 50ppm Oxalate ≤ 300ppm Sulphate ≤ 150ppm Heavy metals ≤ 10ppm Arsenic ≤ 4ppm Calcium ≤ 200ppm Barium pass the test Tridodecylamine ≤ 0.1ppm Packing: 25kg/kraft bag or as required. |
