Properties:
PPD is white to dust crystal at room temperature which has a slight aromatic odor. It is a strong oxidizing agent, soluble in water, alcohol, and ether and only slightly soluble in chloroform. PPD is sensitive to air and/or moisture, and the presence of either tends to hasten color deterioration. It may darken on storage. Melting point 142 deg C (288 deg F) and boiling point of 274 deg C (525 deg F) (at 1,013 hPa).

Usage:
PPD is generally used in industrial processing, and can be used as a precursor to aramid polymers and fibers and polyimid polymers and films, dyes and pigments.
